This year is the 9th year that the Friendship Bay Summer Impalong has been taking place – and I’m once again attending (and so happy to be here). I sailed to Pristine with Stargrace (my main) and Faralithe (my Fo priest) way too early, but that’s OK, there were already a bunch of other people around, waiting for things to get started. A sea serpent tried to take a bite out of us as we sailed past, too. Rude!
Impalongs are a time honoured tradition in Wurm Online. They’re player run events where you get gear / weapons and tools, etc improved by players who have skills higher than your own. It’s perfect for newer players. If you’re a veteran player or you happen to have some great skills, you can work on improving other peoples items, and give back to the community that way. There’s also contests and competitions that have evolved over the years, and neat prizes that can be won. This year I noticed there are some dye kits that I would absolutely love to get my hands on.
It runs for 5 days, and I imagine I will try to stick around for its entirety. My priest is already at 100 faith, but I’m trying to work on her channeling. It’s slow. Very slow. I’ve left my other priest (Vynora) back home to take care of things while I’m away. I imagine there will be a post or two coming in the future about my adventures here, right now there are 16 others wandering around, and we’re still a few hours from the actual start.
