[EQL] Sky, More Sky, and Even MORE Sky

As of right now, I’ve mostly settled into my play style in EverQuest Legends – but there hasn’t been a whole lot going on besides grinding sky and trying to unlock classes. Most of the ones I’ve already unlocked were classes that I paid to unlock originally, which isn’t a lot of use to me.

Beastlord, Paladin, and Cleric were ones I already had available – but I am happy to have unlocked Rogue, and even happier that they made Thornstinger secondary equippable so I can use my Paladin weapon and my Rogue weapon at the same time. That being said, I haven’t really been playing the rogue in my combination lately.

I’ve been playing a Paladin / Monk / Enchanter combination (which I believe might be the current meta) and grinding sky, looking for the bits I don’t have. It’s slow, and annoying. I do it in a multiplayer instance with my other half, but that also makes the zone even more difficult and annoying. We try to clear it once a day, and a few more times on the weekend, time willing.

It is not especially engaging content, and I can’t really say that I find it ‘fun’ but I do want to unlock all of the classes that I can as my ‘main’ and in the meantime I’m farming motes to upgrade gear and spells. There are two more pieces of gear that I’m trying to go after as well. Innoruk has been especially stingy with the mask I want, and I need to farm Fear or Hate for some legs.

Other than that? Just trying to get by. As always, happy gaming no matter where you find yourself!

[EQL] It’s Time to Quest

Now that I’ve leveled up another combination of classes to 50, I’m realizing that I can’t play my combination of choice because none of them fit in the ‘main’ slot. That means questing in Sky is required.

So to procrastinate on that, I decided to do a few raids to get my weekly void shard thing, and then I opted to unlock a few races in-game. I managed to unlock Froglok, and Halfling despite the fact that the achievement says I have not unlocked it. I promptly swapped to the halfling race, so I know I ‘have’ it even though my quest journal thinks otherwise. It still wants me to get some faction.

Honestly, it wouldn’t be EverQuest if there wasn’t a few bugs still kicking around.

[EQL] We’re in Plane of Hate – again (again)

My cleric / monk / bard combination is finally level 46 (well, now 48 at the time of this post actually) and I once again headed to hate. I know there are other zones that I can get experience in, but hate is one of the easier ones (IMO) and I’m comfortable there. So I’ll probably grind hate to 50 – once again.

Then what. Do I continue to work on Sky? I’m wondering if maybe the quests will be changed when Kunark releases so that you need to do something else to unlock classes. Do I work on gear? Maybe I’ll try to unlock a few races via questing? So far I don’t have any real plans except I do want to get my daily raids done so I can pick up 3 more tokens. That will let me push my neck piece to 10, which is something I’ve been meaning to do for a bit.

Aside from that, we’ll just have to see.

[EQL] We’re Camping Permafrost

As soon as I hit 40 I opted to leave Guk because I was VERY tired of it. There are a few other options at this level range, but one of my favourites is Permafrost, camping the bear tunnels down below. So I set myself up with a personal difficulty II (I’ve found this is my personal sweet spot for difficulty vs. experience earned) and decided to do some slow casual exping. I’m doing other things IRL at the same time, so I typically just pull the caves, feign, and then get back to it when I can.

So far I’m still only 40, but I can feel 41 creeping up on me.

[EQL] We’re in Guk.. Again

Well. So far I have to say the cleric / monk / bard combination is a LOT of fun. After starting over at level 10 yesterday and playing for most of the evening, I am now level 34 and find myself in Guk, fighting undead frogloks. I am not a huge fan of this zone, but I’ll do it until around 40, and then I’ll head to Permafrost to beat up some polar bears until 46, then I’ll head to hate.

I’m thinking this might be my new ‘main’ combination of characters, especially when I play with my husband but I guess we’ll see at 50. Each day what class I feel like playing seems to change – nothing wrong with that.
