Achievements

I finally unlocked the Earthen race on my NA account (remember I decided to swap back? Well I did, I just have too much progress to give up) which means I can try out this ‘speed leveling’ addon that I found, where you level up via exploration. I’m thinking I might even make a YouTube video out of it, showing my progress on my first run. It is said that you can level from 10-70 within 1-2 hours just by exploration (Earthen have a 200% bonus, plus there are other xp bonuses going on at the moment) and I’d like to see if it’s true. The addon is called ‘Dystinct Earthen Skyriding‘ and you can find it over on Curseforge.

Of course I’m not the greatest at flying, so we’ll just have to see how it turns out. I’m excited though, I love finding different ways of leveling, my usual is to do pet battles from 10-70, then timewalking 70-80. I always have pets to level.

Have you used this addon before? How did it work out for you? Let me know in comments, and as always, happy gaming – no matter where you find yourself.

Mount #494/495

I decided to splurge a bit and purchased the raven mount pack that was for sale in the bnet shop, since I had converted a bunch of tokens into balance earlier this week. That brings me up to 495 mounts total, and I really just love the way the raven looks. I used to feed a pair of ravens at our post up North, nothing but good things to say about them.

The climb to 500 mounts is within reach, finally.

Gold Making – Week 29 / 2025

Another week of ‘ok’ gold making sales, which I’m happy about considering we’re at the end of a season when people are typically playing less. As normal, the sales come from transmog, recipes, and pets. I don’t deal in current expansion items (or at least, I don’t typically. An exception would be the clickies you get from doing activities as a needed class. Those are current tier and I usually farm them pretty easily and then stuff them all up on the AH.

I didn’t post auctions every day, sometimes I burn out or I just don’t have enough time so I leave them and deal with them the next day. This helps me avoid burn out, and I just need to remind myself sometimes that it’s a game, and I shouldn’t stress too much.

I’m back playing on my NA account (as I mentioned in my previous post) so hopefully I can get a few more goals knocked off my list. We’ll just have to see. As always, happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself!

Back and Forth, Back and Forth

Well, after making a big deal and playing my EU account for most of last week, I’ve already migrated back to my NA account – it’s just hard to give up 20+ years of content, not to mention *all* of my gold making to date has been NA. Will I play both? Probably. Will I focus on obtaining ‘stuff’ over on my EU account? Probably not to the same extent as my NA account, I just don’t have it in me.

That being said, I’ll also need to look for a community some place on NA. To date, I haven’t managed to find a place I call ‘home’. That’s a project to work on at least.

I’ve been farming mounts this week, and trying to get some completion done while the collector’s bounty is live. Mounts have not been dropping very frequently for me (Dragon Soul, I’m looking at you) but I still have some level 80 characters to run through the raids, so there’s time. I did manage to 100% my very first dungeon, which was The Vortex Pinnacle of all things. The only item I needed to complete today was a final achievement within the zone. It requires you to go out of your way collecting 5 glowing balls in awkward places. With a demon hunter (and double jump) this was easy. I attempted it on a few other characters first, not so easy. At least not for me.

I’m also taking care of weekly chores. I’ve migrated to playing my monk for most of Season 2 so far, and I think that will continue for some time. The heat wave has finally passed, and it was a balmy 29C today instead of 40C, much joy was had.

As always, happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself.

Just EU Things

Last week I decided to start playing on the EU servers because it better fit my time zone, I’m 4h behind the UK time zones, and 4h ahead of the West Coast, being here in Atlantic Canada. I typically game day-time hours, and go to bed pretty early (9-10pm) which was right when things would typically get started over on NA. Waiting for queues was difficult, and raid times were always so late for me, it was not an optimal experience.

I should have made this change years ago, because so far it has been fantastic. I’m currently playing alliance on the Argent Dawn server, and I have two level 80 characters (a paladin and a hunter) and a handful of 70 characters (evoker, and druid), with some babies (monk, and priest) that I’m hoping to lowly level. Eventually I’d like 1 of each class, and perhaps 1 of each class on the horde side (on a different horde heavy server, when that time comes).

Groups and activity happen when I’m available, which is REALLY different for me, and I’ve just been having an amazing time. I joined up with the community of twitch streamer “Bears Adventures”, who is just a lot of fun. My only ‘complaint’ if it can be called that, is that I took so long to make the change, and also I have so much content to catch up on.

The only thing I truly ‘miss’ from my NA account (aside from the gold) is my pet collection, which I am slowly working on. I’ve unlocked the Legion daily quests so that I can get those pet trainers when they come up, and I do have a handful of level 25 pets now. It helps that you can jump into pet battles for both Dragonflight and The War Within with level 1 pets. You don’t get a lot of experience for them but what you want to do is the dailies that reward charms, and then use those charms to buy pet boosts from the NPC.

We’re in the middle of a horrible heat wave, so I’ve been doing a lot of gaming lately and hiding from the sun (we’re talking 35-40C outside). There should be a break in the heat on Monday, and honestly, I’m looking forward to that.

Happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself.
