And Now for Something Completely Different..

I love ramen, but like a lot of people I don’t exactly have any experience with the noodles, and I never know what to buy or what I might enjoy. While I do like SOME heat, it really depends on the type of heat. For example, I love sriracha. I don’t like Franks.

I admit it, I saw these carbonara noodles on tiktok, and they looked amazing. I decided to buy them on amazon, and they are WAY too expensive – I purchased them at $18 for 5, and now they’re at $25 for 5. Thankfully, my grocery store also supplies various versions of these noodles. The downside is that they’ve been out of stock FOREVER. They’re also only $8 for the package. Anyway, I was ordering groceries for the week, and I saw they finally had them in stock so of course I bought some. I made them, I ate them, I loved them. I made them with breaded cooked chicken breast, and a runny egg (I also mixed the sauce with some Japanese mayo). Fantastic. Highly recommended. I think one of my favourite features is that the spicy sauce can be applied with as much or as little as you want. I normally use it very sparingly. Other days I might want a little more heat.

Sometimes, it’s just nice to have something simple to eat that doesn’t require all sorts of preparation or thought.

Now returning you to your regular scheduled gaming posts..

Let’s Save the Bees

I love it when video games take real life situations and then bring them into the game – so while I was puzzled that we spent so much time rescuing bees in the latest campaign quest for world of warcraft, I was also pleased that they were bringing attention to the importance of these little flying critters in their own weird round about way.

The paladin is sitting at 684 ilevel, and I guess I’m one of the folks who somehow got their cloak to 714 before it was supposed to, to be honest I have no clue how that even happened, I didn’t do anything except quest, get my cloak, and pick up the cloak on an alt. Somehow that was enough.

I’m thinking I might tip toe into some M+ runs this weekend, I think 684 should be plenty to get started. I haven’t done any M+ in TWW, so why not now. In the meantime I’m not quite done the latest update to the campaign yet, so that’s on my list of things to get done today. As always, happy gaming no matter where you find yourself!

Where are things at in Warcraft?

Season 3 has started – I was very excited, and thought I wanted to play my paladin as my ‘main’ but as always, well, that didn’t last. Or rather, it did, for a time but now I’ve swapped off to my monk (again). There’s just something about the class that I really enjoy.

I caught up on the latest story bits (paladin), did delves, did timewalking, and then remembered that Gamescom is coming up with a (what I hope is) huge reveal about player housing and Midnight. I’m also pretty excited about this and I am hoping that maybe we get to explore housing before Midnight comes out. Either way, it’s a really great time to be playing Warcraft.

After playing my paladin for a bit I decided to swap over to my monk. My monk is on a RP server that I really love, and for some reason the class has always really been a lot of fun for me to play even though it hasn’t technically performed that great in the end as long as I’m enjoying it, that’s what matters.

That does mean my monk needs to catch up on all of the things she hasn’t done yet – there’s a lot. There’s always a lot. I did also do a quick run through the new wing of LFR, but I didn’t win any new gear. It was a lot of fun with some new mechanics, maybe next week I’ll have a better run.

As always, happy gaming no matter where you find yourself!

Well That Can’t be Good

The exact moment all three of my colonists died to an ostrich, and then a man in black came along to save the colony so it could continue to move forward.

Shortly after this happened, I got a quest that had a second random person join the colony. Unfortunately after their time with us they decided to betray Dru (the man in black) and attack him. I’m back down to only one colonist. Hopefully Dru can pull it together enough to survive until someone else shows up. At least he doesn’t require much food.

A new Colony is Born

Despite the fact that a LOT of my time is spent over in World of Warcraft, I do still enjoy popping into other games – like RimWorld, which is probably my #3 played game of all time (behind only Wurm Online and Warcraft). I started up a new colony on a desert island last night, and they quickly took over an old chemical factory that was stockpiled with some food, and a lot of chemfuel. This quickly raised the value of my minions, which of course increased the difficulty of any fights headed their way. I didn’t even last an hour before an ostrich (yep, that’s right, the giant bird) came and killed all 3 of my colonists, so the mysterious man in black joined up and kept things going. That’s where I’m currently at.

It’s lovely to have electricity and comfort at the beginning, but as always, it comes with responsibilities.
