I had no intentions of staying up for the launch of Legion last night – but baby had other ideas, and since I couldn’t get to sleep, I decided why not. I was already up with heartburn and other pregnancy related aches and pains and may as well get a little gaming in. It was probably one of the smoothest launches I’ve seen. Servers didn’t crash, or even buckle under the weight. I didn’t have any issues with lag, and my quests all worked. I knew I would be playing my priest, and I decided to start out on my favourite side – Horde.

I’m currently just a smidge shy of level 102. Gear rewards from quests is starting to upgrade the 700-715 that I’ve been wearing. Crafted gear is very nice. I also learned a few things, like pick the artifact that you’re going to use while leveling, first. This is something I neglected to do, even though I level as a shadow priest I picked the holy artifact. Needless to say I have had very few opportunities to use it. I hear that at level 102 you can choose a second artifact for your off spec, and I understand that there’s quite a grind that comes with leveling more than one artifact, but we’ll see how it goes and what I decide in the end. While my leveling is all done in shadow, I know that I’ll be playing holy for LFG / LFR.

I’m really pleased with the expansion so far. I love that the starter areas actually scale with your character, and you get to pick where you begin. Since I didn’t play much of the beta nor did I look into anything I have absolutely no idea if some areas are better than others.

The story throughout the zone I’m doing is fantastic. I love the cinematic, the voice overs, and I feel more involved than previous expansions. Whether or not I get bored a month into it – well, we’ll just have to wait and see. I’ve unlocked my class hall and have a follower from there and have started doing some of the class missions. How it all works I haven’t quite figured out, but it’s explained pretty well as you go along.

Staying Up?

Midnight PDT is when we’ll see the launch of Legion here in my neck of the woods, and I’ve been debating whether or not I’ll stay up to play. Chances are, I’ll fall asleep – and if I happen to wake up I’ll nose around for a bit, but otherwise I’m going to enjoy a full night of sleep, and I’ll play sometime tomorrow. Rag and Bone Market

It has been a while since I peeked into Wurm Online, I’ve been spending most of my gaming time in either Wurm Unlimited, World of Warcraft, or just bouncing around in various games. I didn’t have money available for the monthly fee, and I don’t really enjoy playing Wurm as a F2P player, even though technically you can. Thankfully my merchant at the market me and my alliance run has been doing pretty well, and I had 10 silver saved up. I purchased 30 days of game time, and am hoping that through future sales I can continue to keep a subscription this way. At least until I either run out of coin, or I run out of time (running out of time is a more likely scenario with Llama Bean inc. on October 20th).

Getting back into things is pretty easy. I wandered around my deed repairing things that had fallen into disuse, and taking inventory on what supplies I had (and any that I may have needed). I went over the latest patch notes, made sure nothing was missing from either of my places, and tidied up the animal pens. Most of my horses have passed on, but I still have at least one breeding pair left and honestly that’s all that’s needed. My sheep have fared much better, I still have a good sized herd of both black and white sheep. I wasn’t keeping any other animals, so there’s nothing else to worry about. I spent a good hour chopping down trees that were growing in places I didn’t want trees, as well as culling a swarm of seals that had moved into the market place.

As to what sort of long term project I want to work on – I have no idea. I’ll probably go back to alternating weapon smithing a bit because why not. I haven’t really looked over my skills to see what interests me. Still, it’s nice to be back. I’ve missed playing and were it not for the cost, I’d probably play a lot more. And Then There were 10

Compared to some of my friends, I don’t really have that many level 100 characters. I’ve got a total of 10, 5 across Area 52 (all horde) and 5 across Argent Dawn (all alliance). I have two duplicate classes, a paladin and a priest. Priest being my favourite out of the bunch. It wasn’t my intention to level up all my characters when invasions first came out, but that’s what ended up happening. A lot of my characters had already reached 91, and I was just not keen on grinding through WoD content again for the 6th time. A handful were lower level or even new characters (like my horde priest, that character is brand new). I did a LOT of invasions, and I have no inclination to level up any more through that method. It was a lot of boring grinding, a lot of traveling, and just not very “fun” – what it was, was fast. Because honestly leveling up through questing for the hundredth time is also a whole lot of not fun.

Now I’m working on my professions a bit, trying to max them out. Most of my 100s already have max professions, but the priest does not. Only one of my characters had max cooking / fishing / archaeology, and I’m not sure if I want to max it out on other characters as well. I’ll probably just do it on my alliance main / horde main, and then we’ll see.

I’m really excited about the expansion going live. I love the hype, and I love seeing so many of my friends getting involved in all of the little changes that are happening. Even if it doesn’t last, it’s been a pretty good experience so far.

Just Married

A non gaming post today (gasp). It’s actually my wedding day! A very small affair, just two witnesses, myself, my husband and the lady doing the ceremony. It’s exactly what I wanted. I’ve never had dreams of big huge weddings and crowds are not something I enjoy, but it was perfect. Tomorrow I’ll get back to the regular scheduled gaming blog posts!
