Returning to FFXIV

One thing that I’ve always wished Blizzard would add to World of Warcraft is player housing. I have longed for some sort of player housing for YEARS now – and honestly it’s frustrating that a game as large and robust as Warcraft doesn’t have this feature.

I love player housing. I loved it in EQ2, I loved it in EQ, I loved it in Rift. I loved it in ArchAge. Vanguard. The list goes on. For whatever reason Blizzard doesn’t believe in the power of player housing even though they have the absolute BEST platform for it.

That’s why I found myself back in FFXIV – even though I own only the smallest of apartments and barely any furniture. It is my goal to upgrade to a much larger house, and to get into crafting furniture, making gil and all that good stuff. My main character reached level 75 last night in the Dance profession (one of my favourites, it’s a ranged DPS profession) – and I am also working my way through all of the crafting / gathering professions. I’ve already reached 80 in mining and fishing, botany remains as well as the core craft professions. FFXIV is an absolutely beautiful game, and I can’t wait to spend a little time there.

Happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself!

Victory in PvP

The weekly in World of Warcraft is Sign of Battle, with a bonus to honor gains – which is fantastic, because I can boost up my PvP gear and that’s exactly what I decided to do with the weapons my demon hunter is sporting which are now ilevel 199.

I have always wanted to be better at PvP. I know it takes time to study each opponent and learn their openings and then judge in gameplay how to combat all of that stuff but I’m just not great at it. Or even good. Still, the desire to learn is there. I’ve always wanted to play in ranked PvP, but you need a team of at least yourself and one other, so for now I continue to watch from the sidelines.

Happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself!

Organization

I like to have everything in its place, in game and out. My husband has been less-than-enthralled with Shadowlands and is no longer playing WoW at all, so I decided to move my horde characters all back to Hyjal, where I’m part of an active guild of amazing people. I started by buying tokens and just moving a handful – but I knew I wouldn’t be comfortable unless I moved EVERYONE over. It cost a bit over a million gold, but in the end that itchy feeling I get when my characters are all spread out all over went away and I am much happier. Having my crafters all together is nice, spare guild banks, and all that good stuff.

Now my alliance characters are all on Argent Dawn, ready to pick back up any time I want, and my horde characters are all over on Hyjal. Both servers are completely different. Argent Dawn is alliance heavy, and low population roleplay server. Hyjal is horde heavy, high/full population regular server. Now I can continue working on creating / leveling one of each class for each server.

Happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself!

A bit of Alpaca

I’m still trying to work my way through the mountain of alpaca fiber I have – it’s going slow, but it’s such a delight to spin I know I just need to dedicate more time to it. I want to make this a three ply yarn, and I have 1.5 bobbins down. I’m thinking I should just learn to chain ply, I might feel better about the process if I could see more progress (like a finished yarn). I’ve tried chain plying before and I was absolute rubbish at it, so we’ll see how that goes. It just feels like this fiber is never ending – and that’s not necessarily a bad thing, it’s incredible to work with, but I’d love to start knitting with the finished yarn, or start a new fiber (or continue processing the two fleece I have).

Shawl Progress

I just made it past the 5% mark on my shawl – so much more to go! I’m very eager to see the gradient start to reveal itself. The first sections I worked were just simple yo lace eyelets, and now the new section I’ve started is some slip stitch designs that are pretty nice to look at (but difficult to photograph).
