Wash Cloth (1)

I have a few skeins of 100% cotton that I bought specifically to make wash cloths out of, so I decided on a pattern (it’s a 2 row repeat, very easy to memorize) and have gotten started. Hopefully they don’t take me that long to complete. I’m aiming for 2 wash cloths per skein, but we’ll see how that goes. I absolutely love hand knit wash cloths, they are good for a number of things and are pretty great for in the shower due to the texture of the cotton. Every few years I like to add to the collection as they do get worn with time, the family uses them that much.

Keto Update

Since April 15th I’ve been doing a moderated version of keto, where I don’t punish myself if I go over my carb allowance because living here in the North sometimes things happen and foods are not readily available. That being said, I did pick up a few keto-friendly items from Amazon – one of them being ‘Carbquik’ which can be used to make pizza crust, pot pie crust, waffles, and stuff like that. I made a small mini pizza and it turned out quite good. I also used it to make chicken pot pie and that was incredible.

The concern or worry with using products like this is that it can be easy to go over your calorie allotment and it can also cause cravings. I try to limit myself to using it only once a week, and I’ve cut down on other keto friendly sweets to try to curtail the massive cravings I was developing. Still, it’s nice to have some choices available.

I’m down 16lbs since starting, and I can notice my clothes starting to fit a bit better. I still have a long way to go, a lot of that weight was water weight that naturally comes with beginning keto, but I’ve calculated my macros, started tracking my meals, and I’m determined that by Christmas of this year I will be below 200lbs. I can’t remember the last time in the past 20 years I was not overweight/obese and it is time.

Cross Stitch (6)

It has been some time since I did any cross stitching, but I have recently gotten back into it. I picked up a lovely grime guard, a needle minder, and some new patterns. I’m working on this halloween themed one to begin with, and then we’ll see what’s next. Probably some super hero ones I picked up. It’s a lovely way to pass the time (when my hands and eyes allow me) and I also picked up some frames so I can hang / gift some creations.

Running with the Guild

I’ve been running some events with my guild ViP when I can fit the time in (and when the internet works, which is sporadic at best) and we recently completed a bunch of meta in the latest saga that ArenaNet released. I loved every second of it – minus the final battle because the rewards were few and the fights took forever. I had a much nicer time in the ramp up events. Still, it was achievements and fun times all around. It seems like there’s always something going on, and I really like that.
