As much as I would love to play all of the things – I just can’t. I can’t give games the time that I think they deserve (or that I think they deserve) when I’m bouncing all over the place. So for right now, let’s pretend that I’ve been playing and invested in World of Warcraft, even though I can’t say that there is any glimmer of truth in this (except when it comes to the gold making meta, still doing that).
This weekend is BlizzCon, and a lot of stuff was revealed, but not a lot of stuff for the game I currently (don’t) play. I think it’s going by the term ‘Modern’ right now. I have very little interest in Classic World of Warcraft, though I did play it VERY briefly.
This weekend, they announced World of Warcraft Forever. It took me a while to understand what that even meant. I think it’s a way for the team to deviate from the norm and create things that don’t have to follow some 20+ year timeline. The level cap will stay at 60, there’s new zones, new races, and a vanilla world of warcraft experiences – expanded.
Will I be any more interested in this version than the Classic version? Honestly? Maybe? It’s hard to tell. I do relish the idea of a World of Warcraft where there isn’t so much history to catch up to. One where I might be able to start over fresh on the EU Roleplay servers (the goal) without feeling ‘bad’ about leaving behind an entire account of goodies. It’s tempting. A slower pace, made for busy people. I did end up buying a copy of the edition (with gold) for both my NA and EU accounts, and I do want to check things out in beta. I don’t know that it will have any lasting affect on me, but we’ll see.
In the meantime, I’m also back to trying to find a gosh darned guild. I need a community. It’s what keeps me playing, and lacking that, I bounce around from game to game.
Still playing EverQuest Legends, too. I’ll be writing about that one soon(tm).
