[EQL] EverQuest Legends – Day 1

I’m still not sure what classes I’m going to be playing at the time of this post, I know a lot of people say you’ll swap around depending on the situation. Right now I’m playing an enchanter / paladin – but I’m already contemplating swapping that out to a beastlord / paladin / melee of some sort. The husband and I managed to log in last night, and reached level 6 while bouncing around D4 Nektulos Forest. It was brutal because mobs have the multiclass ability, so we were fighting war/wiz snakes and clerics galore. They also have a huge aggro range, and they love nothing more than to help their friends.

Still, it was fun. It was a nice way to spend the evening. I’ve also created a guild on the Halas server called ‘Nostalgia Inc’ where like minded social but not too social people can hang out if they want. Zero pressure. This is mostly about having some chat channels and nothing too pressing, especially given my incredibly nomadic game play style.

I’m pretty sure I will easily reach my $20 value for making the initial purchase, and we’ll see how it goes from there.

There were quite a few stability issues yesterday as the game opened. I would randomly drop to character select every 30 minutes or so and the D4 zone went down entirely for a while. I know we can create our own instances, but so far I have not bothered. There has never been more than a handful in the instance that I’m in – and even now, this morning as I type this, I am the only person in Nektulos Forest D4. I imagine as players spread out this will become less of an issue, and while I know there is certainly a mad rush to play, I don’t know if the game actually has ‘staying power’ beyond the 30 days that comes with the initial purchase.

I guess we’ll see!

Happy gaming – no matter where you find yourself.
