It’s just the beginning stages but so far this merino tencel is plying up just nicely. I know I don’t have enough on each bobbin to make it all 3ply, but a good chunk should be, then I’ll 2ply the rest. It’s not my most even spin due to circumstance (we moved and I took a month long break) but I’m still glad I finished spinning it.
I’m only getting a bit of time each day but the progress is happening. I’m just past the mid way mark on both heels. Once they’re as long as they are wide they’ll be completed and I’ll be ready to knit back into the round again and continue on the foot!
While I don’t have a whole lot of spare time, I am spending what I do have doing things I love most in order to maximize that free time. That means today I spent a portion setting up the start of my circular sock knitting machine (handle attached to the base, 72 needles inserted and individually tested) and then I spent the rest of it spinning up the last of my merino / tencel blend from Three Waters Farm.
Tomorrow I should be able to ply my three bobbins together and fingers crossed that I’ll end up with a really lovely yarn to knit into something exquisite. We’ll just have to see!
In the meantime I am also continuing on my socks, I’ve been a bit neglectful of them so I’m still working on the heel flap, but I’ll get there. I hope everyone is staying safe.
It has been quite some time since I posted a daily mailbox, but I’ve been diving into World of Warcraft again here and there, so, why not! The excess gold was sent from alts who were crafting bracers & pants with it, the rest is some simple transmog sales. Nothing too fancy.
