Blaugust 2025 Group Project – You’d Never Guess, But…

I don’t normally participate in these group events with Blaugust, but I always enjoy reading them, so I figured why not. This one is a pretty easy one for me to speak up about. We’re supposed to write about something we don’t normally share on our blog, that we think our readers would never guess. So. What’s mine?

I have NOT been a ‘gamer’ my entire life. In fact, I didn’t even own a computer or use a personal computer until I moved out in 2000. I very clearly remember my first computer because it was only 25 years ago. I did take typing in school (I don’t think that’s a thing any more) but I don’t think that counts as ‘gaming’.

My brothers were the gamers, I have two younger ones and yes on occasion me and Mom would gather together and play Mario Kart and get my gamer brothers to help us out on the harder levels, but I did not grow up playing games, and I didn’t care about them at all. The one computer we had at home was “Dad’s” and we were allowed to use it in later years to check email, and sometimes use his BBS that he ran, but that was about it.

There are days when I feel like I could honestly step away from gaming all together and be perfectly happy. Then I remember that I met my husband through gaming, I met some of my closest friends through gaming. My past careers, working for Carbine Studios, writing for Beckett Massive Online Gamer – all gaming. It has played a significant part in my life, despite not having grown up doing any of it.

So there you have it. A huge (now) gamer, who was never a gamer growing up.

Other people doing this group project? Going to steal the links but here they are.

Teddy’s Haven

There is a shop type game on steam that just recently released (Early Access of course) called Teddy’s Haven. You set up a shop, you upgrade the shop, decorate the shop, customers come, and then there’s also things to do outside of the shop – adventuring type things. Farming and gathering type things. Sometimes strangers wander by and sit outside, buffing your shop sales for the day. There’s also some cats you can pet. Yesterday someone dropped off a baby bear and I’m supposed to use a heal potion on it but I have no idea how to do that. You can stock your shop with things from a never ending catalog (they cost coin) or you can harvest items yourself from the beautiful world around you.

The characters who come to your shop are all sorts. Pictured above, a flock of … geese… came by. What on earth the geese wanted daggers and swords for – well, I’m just the shop owner. It’s not my job to judge the patrons.

The game was only $15 CAD, and I found it to be absolutely worth the money. I can’t wait to see what else gets added to this game, but even if nothing were to change from the state that I played today, it’s still absolutely worth what I paid for it (and more).

As always, happy gaming – no matter where you find yourself.

Maxed out Reshii

I’ve leveled up my cloak and unlocked each tier – I’m not sure if Blizzard is going to add more tiers, but I think I found this a little underwhelming. It felt very separate and unrelated to anything else I was doing in K’aresh, mostly because a lot of the quests are all about the eco-dome. Any way, I’m glad to be finished with it, and glad that my alts can all pick up their cloaks and level it since it’s shared across the warband.

Happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself!

Gold Making – Week 34 / 2025

Sales were pretty good this week, and I found myself at around 8.4 million gold once the dust settled. I did end up spending a few million getting Midnight for 3 of my accounts (2 epic collections, one for NA and one for EU, and a base edition) which does not show in the TSM ledger. I also decided to finally level up cooking, which is why you see some purchases taking place. I’ve been working on collecting recipes, but it’s pretty slow going as my hands are giving me some difficulty so I can’t game much.

As far as what sold, it’s just my usual items. Recipes, battle pets, and transmog. I’m still not touching TWW (unless it’s crafted items) and that’s fine by me. As for the details:

I spend 1h each day posting auctions. I post 140-150 items on each of my 20 servers. I don’t cancel scan, I don’t see the need in my markets. If you’re selling fast moving popular items, sure maybe then you want to cancel scan. Otherwise, just be patient. Remember there’s more than one buyer out there. My servers of choice are medium/high pop ones, though I will admit that Area52 (the largest NA server) is my top as far as sales go. It could be other gold making goblins just buying my stuff to resell it and I’m OK with that. I got what I wanted for the item and it sold, those are the important things.

I’m waiting for reset to happen tomorrow. My paladin is at a generous 693 ilevel right now, and I have not one, not two, but THREE monks sitting at around 670-690. Did I mention how much I love monks this season? Well, I always have. I’m playing Mistweaver (raids, M+) and Brewmaster (Delves). Fun times.

As always, happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself.
