Midnight Spoilers: What’s up with Pet Battles?!

I know most of us have moved on from Twitter, but for World of Warcraft information sometimes that’s the only place I can get it from. I am not in the Midnight Alpha – but tons of content creators I follow are, and this little bit of information that was released really stood out to me.

MrGM posted about how pet battles in Midnight have changed – at least when it comes to capturing. You no longer battle 3 pets in the open world and attempt to cage, instead you just.. throw a cage, and catch it. The new method removes pet battles from the equation – at least for Midnight. This is NOT retroactive to other zones.

As someone who really enjoys pet battling, and who enjoys capturing pets, this troubles me. I’m concerned that Blizzard is going to slowly phase out pet battles all together. I’m concerned that they’re done with one of the only aspects of the game I interact with on an almost daily basis.

In comments (of course) there is a LOT of speculation, comments like it’s because of Nintendo. I’m not sure if I’d go that far, we’ve seen pets move to the very end of the line in a number of expansions now and I’m just worried that this will be one more system that they cut out completely.

Thoughts? Let me know in comments. As always, happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself.

Gold Making – Week 39 (2025)

Sales this week have been slow (the earnings were around 6.4 million for the past 7 days) – but it’s really my own fault. Somehow I got out of schedule for posting, and I skipped a few days all together. I’m hoping to swing back on track this week, but I’m also getting used to a new stream schedule (I stream Wurm Online Friday nights, and then World of Warcraft Saturday/Sunday, 8pm EST). Needless to say I have been absolutely exhausted, but I think things are slowly falling into their groove.

Sales this week were all over the place. A few more ‘rare’ expensive items, and a lot of transmog. I think everyone is waiting for ‘what comes next’ in game, whether that’s Legion Remix, or something else. I’d like to spend some time setting up a few extra ‘series’ type posts / videos, I have some in mind (like perhaps re-doing my 100 dungeon run ones) and I just need to get the ball rolling on them.

Here’s to another full week of gold making! As always, happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself.

Gold Making – Week 38 (2025)

There were not many sales this week, only 126, but I did get some pretty big sales, which was nice. A total of 7.9 million gold earned for the week. I think I spent around 200,000g so that’s a pretty nice ratio.

It was my kiddos birthday which is why the post is going up late and I’m adjusting the date for it. because of this I ended up missing a few days of reposting my auction house items, but that’s OK, breaks are also good just to help prevent burn out.

Sales were my usuals, pets, mounts, transmog, recipes. Nothing from TWW, nothing fast moving. I’m eagerly waiting for Legion Remix, and in the meantime I’m working on collecting ATT. It’s slow, but I’ll be starting a weekly blog post series on that soon(tm).

As always, happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself!

Gold Making – Week 37 (2025)

Another week gone by, and sales have declined a little bit but a lot of that is also due to the fact that I didn’t post my auctions for a day or two over the weekend. I was just exhausted and didn’t want to burn out, so I let them lapse. I think I’m pretty consistent most of the time, so letting them expire a day or two each week isn’t that big of a deal.

I only had one really big sale this week, and that was the Baron Charr’s Sceptre that went for 1.5 million gold. I sold a LOT of pets, mostly to other gold goblins who will re-sell them. I’ve had a lot of stock to work through and have been focused on lowering my prices to move that stock out of the warehouse so to speak. It does no good to just keep it all hanging around forever. I’m still pretty happy with these profit margins, combined with my crafting profits (TSM doesn’t keep record of those) it was a good week over all. I imagine as we keep going through Season 3 things may slow down a bit, but we’ll just have to see.

Gold Making – Week 36 (2025)

I indulged this week and splurged on a few battle pets I was missing, along with some recipes I found that I needed for my collection, too. What was 11.8 million gold in sales was 9.3m in profit for the week once I took out the 2.5m I spent. I don’t normally spend a lot of gold like that, but with the new pets added in 11.2 I didn’t want to wait 12 weeks to get them all.

Sales were mostly all on Area 52, and it almost all came from pets. I had leveled up a large selection and another goblin purchased most of them – fine by me, profit is profit. This also allowed me to level up another alt to 80 (thank you pet battles). The rest of the servers I’m on had mild sales, 1-5 items on most of them, although Winterhoof also saw some pet sales.

Right now I’m focusing on posting the auctions in the morning before the family wakes up, and then I work on my own collections. I really want to get my recipe collection up there, but I’m not exactly sure what the best way to go about that is. I have also been turning my entire pet collection rare, something that I’ve procrastinated on all of these years. I think I have 300 pets to go, they’re uncommon at the moment.

Other then that, it’s just another day making gold. As always, happy gaming – no matter where you find yourself.
