[Warcraft] Gold Making – Week 45 (2025 Final post?)

For those who don’t know, earlier this week my account was banned for suspected RMT – now I can argue until I’m blue in the face that I have never participated in RMT before, but none of that matters unless an actual human person over at Blizzard takes a look at my case instead of their absolutely horrible AI system.

I do make a lot of gold. I do tend to gift a lot of expansions/game time/shop items to what might appear to be random people (and in some cases, are random people). I like to help people I see in need. I recently donated 10 million gold anonymously to Bears_Adventures for a future giveaway she was going to hold. I don’t know exactly what triggered my ban (Blizzard does not provide those details) but it could have been anything from the above mentioned giveaways to an actual RMT participant purchasing one of my auctions (how on earth I’m supposed to infer who is buying what of mine off of the AH, I have no idea).

This whole ordeal has left a sour taste in my mouth. I’ve done nothing wrong, tried to help those who need it, and was meticulous about following Blizzard’s own rules. Somehow, their system still got me. I did appeal, but the first one was shot down with some nonsensical reply that had nothing to do with anything I had written (leaving little doubt in my mind as to who was responding). I have appealed a second time, and reached out to Blizzard’s community team to try to get human eyes on the case. It could also have been something as simple as me transferring my own funds around between my accounts, which I tend to do. I am HOPING that this will be something that can be easily disproven, but again, it requires human interaction.

In any case. As you can tell by the tradeskillmaster ledger above, this was not a good week for gold making. I’ve been too scared to log in, because I don’t want anything to happen to my main account. Instead, I’m laying low and waiting.

[Warcraft] Gold Making – Week 44 (2025)

Well, I missed out (again) on getting some posting done, this past week has just been too busy to be able to do all of the things. There were some smaller sales that went on, but nothing too drastic. I’m still selling at a reduced volume, by only posting across my 10 busiest servers instead of the 20 servers I would typically post to. Eventually when things pick up again or I’ve got more free time, I will post all of the places. For now, this feels like a nice compromise.

Recipes were the sales of the week, I have to organize and go through the pets I have listed because I think I’ve forgotten to add them to the mix. Ever since guild banks broke (they display just a cage, and not the specific pet) I’ve shuffled my stock around to the warbank trying to get a nice market flow. It’s important for me to be able to see WHAT pet I’m potentially stocking up on since I use TSM, and Blizzard’s method of just having ‘pet cage’ in the guild bank is fairly useless. It has been broken for some time, so I’m not really expecting anything to change.

Hopefully everyone else is doing well, and the gold is flowing! I’ve seen a few more friends trickle back into retail vs. remix, and with 76 days left to go I imagine a lot of us are just waiting for phase 4.

Happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself!

[Warcraft] Gold Making – Week 42 (2025)

Sales have started picking back up again after the Legion Remix rush, which is nice. Not as much as it was prior to Remix, but that’s OK. I imagine things will ebb and flow as the community wanders to and from depending on what they’re doing. The Halloween event has also started in game, so people are wandering back to regular retail for that. Since I am also playing on legion remix these days I’ve streamlined my sales slightly, so instead of selling on 20 servers (taking 1.5h to post each morning) I’m temporarily selling on only 10 servers, my 10 ‘best selling’ servers as it were (according to my ledger in tradeskillmaster). Sales on some of my servers have been incredibly low, and if I put those items up on my more populated servers instead I’m sure I can get them to move faster. This should cut down the time I’m spending in the morning posting auctions which is the main goal.

Ideally I’d just post across 2 accounts again since you can post auctions to two accounts at once using hotkeys, but I’ve been really happy with all of my auction house characters on a single account, it’s easier to take breaks and not burn out. Hopefully sales continue to rise, and in the mean time there’s certainly no lack of things to do in game!

Happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself.

Gold Making – Week 37 (2025)

Another week gone by, and sales have declined a little bit but a lot of that is also due to the fact that I didn’t post my auctions for a day or two over the weekend. I was just exhausted and didn’t want to burn out, so I let them lapse. I think I’m pretty consistent most of the time, so letting them expire a day or two each week isn’t that big of a deal.

I only had one really big sale this week, and that was the Baron Charr’s Sceptre that went for 1.5 million gold. I sold a LOT of pets, mostly to other gold goblins who will re-sell them. I’ve had a lot of stock to work through and have been focused on lowering my prices to move that stock out of the warehouse so to speak. It does no good to just keep it all hanging around forever. I’m still pretty happy with these profit margins, combined with my crafting profits (TSM doesn’t keep record of those) it was a good week over all. I imagine as we keep going through Season 3 things may slow down a bit, but we’ll just have to see.

As always, happy gaming – no matter where you find yourself!

Gold Making – Week 36 (2025)

I indulged this week and splurged on a few battle pets I was missing, along with some recipes I found that I needed for my collection, too. What was 11.8 million gold in sales was 9.3m in profit for the week once I took out the 2.5m I spent. I don’t normally spend a lot of gold like that, but with the new pets added in 11.2 I didn’t want to wait 12 weeks to get them all.

Sales were mostly all on Area 52, and it almost all came from pets. I had leveled up a large selection and another goblin purchased most of them – fine by me, profit is profit. This also allowed me to level up another alt to 80 (thank you pet battles). The rest of the servers I’m on had mild sales, 1-5 items on most of them, although Winterhoof also saw some pet sales.

Right now I’m focusing on posting the auctions in the morning before the family wakes up, and then I work on my own collections. I really want to get my recipe collection up there, but I’m not exactly sure what the best way to go about that is. I have also been turning my entire pet collection rare, something that I’ve procrastinated on all of these years. I think I have 300 pets to go, they’re uncommon at the moment.

Other then that, it’s just another day making gold. As always, happy gaming – no matter where you find yourself.
