Organizing my Characters

One of my favourite things to do, both in game and out, is organization. It comes as no surprise that I’ve spent a lot of time organizing the login screen of my World of Warcraft account (but it seems to never stay that way, as Blizzard shuffles my characters around quite frequently). I have 4 ‘main’ characters on both alliance and horde (those are the VIP campsites pictured). This covers all of the professions minus gathering (which I hate). Then I have 4 of each class in their own respective campsite, too. Not all of the groups are full at this moment, but ideally, eventually, they might be. Right now I have 4 druids, and 4 hunters outside of the VIPs. Everything else is either 1/2/3 depending on how much I play the class (warlocks and rogues are near the bottom of that list). They’re not all at 80 (yet) but ideally I’ll get them there before Midnight (the expansion, not the time of day).

How do you like to organize your games? Maybe you’re one of the lucky few who don’t have an entire army of alts at your side to try to sort (keep in mind, this is one account out of … many, that I have). Let me know in comments, and as always, happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself.

Bring on the Cozy Games

There’s a lot of arguments lately over whether or not cozy is a genre, or just a feeling people get that encompasses a whole bunch of different games, and I always wonder why it can’t be both. I don’t have the energy to argue about it all so I will just say that these are in fact games that are cozy for me. Latest acquisition? Tiny Book Shop.

This game is adorable, and makes me feel happy when I play it. Plus it promote actual books, and I’m a big fan of that.

Tales of the shire I haven’t actually played yet. I’ve heard good and bad about this one. I did have high hopes for it, but the initial comments were not especially promising, so I decided to give it a bit of time and play a bit later.

Then we have my usual suspects. RimWorld is one of the coziest games I know, but for a lot of people the game creates a huge amount of stress. I don’t play it on the most difficult mode and that probably has something to do with it.

Date Everything is another newer game, and it’s hilarious. Highly suggest picking this one up for anyone looking for something a bit different to play.

Wobbly life is not actually a cozy game of mine, but it is one for my kids, so I play along with them. Personally this game drives me crazy but I’m glad they’ve found their own ‘thing’ to enjoy.

Euro Truck Sim 2, and Wurm Online round out the list of my usual cozy suspects. I can’t wait to dive into either of those, especially if I’ve had a difficult day.

So what constitutes as ‘cozy’ to you? What games top that list? Let me know in comments, and as always, happy gaming no matter where you find yourself.

Data For Azeroth

Some future goals of mine are to move into the top 100 for North America when it comes to collecting unique recipes + pets, we’ll see if I ever manage those goals. I’m doing pretty well on the server I play on at least, considering how many people play there. I am quite far down the list when it comes to mounts, and about midway in terms of ‘all the things’.

Are these types of ‘collect them all’ goals something you participate in for your game of choice? I find they help motivate me to complete things in between the ‘regular’ game stuff that might be going on – of course with player housing just around the corner I am also trying to complete things now that may rely on that, or prepare for the time when I don’t have free moments to work on them because I am just too wrapped up in housing. I’m VERY excited about this feature, Midnight cannot come soon enough.

The Latest Twitch Drops

I’ve been trying to be more supportive of twitch streamers lately, lurking when I can’t talk, engaging when I’ve got the time and spare spoons. Right now there’s a twitch giveaway going on for another battle pet – the Shadefur Brewthief. You only need to watch for 4 hours, and you can always mute the tab (don’t mute the actual stream or it won’t count) if you’re not actually interested. I managed to get mine last night, and add it to the collection.

Speaking of collections, I’m sitting at 499 mounts and I’m VERY close to finally obtaining my 500th one. That is a challenge that has been a long time in the works. I’m hoping to focus a bit more on my battle pet ranking, and I’ve also been trying to collect as many recipes as I can. It’s going pretty well so far (thanks to the Data for Azeroth website).

Other then that, I’ve ran through the latest updates for season 3, and I’ll be posting some thoughts about that tomorrow. The first day was pretty buggy for me, personally. I had to log in and out a lot for quest updates and to make certain objectives work. I’m hoping these things get sorted before too long though.

As always, happy gaming no matter where you find yourself.

The Cusp of Season 3

Am I excited about the start of Season 3 coming to world of Warcraft? Well, yes and no. I have been away from the game for most of season 1, and a majority of season 2. I’m excited to be around for season 3. It’s nice to be playing again, and I’m hoping to get some 10+ mythics under my belt. I’m not excited about the dungeon choices, and I think they’ll be rough.

I did spend a bunch of time this morning fixing up my banks. I unlocked all of the regular slots, unlocked the reagent tab, and unlocked void storage on any character under 80. This should allow me to swap over seamlessly to the new system. If you’re level 80, you’ll already get these new bank slots, but I have a lot of auction house characters who do nothing except AH stuff. I wanted them to be able to take advantage of the new system. I also removed anything that was in those banks because last time Blizzard messed with the guild bank system I ended up losing millions of gold worth of items and they never returned them to me. Not fun.

Aside from doing a few more quests to get my ilevel as high as I could (within reason) before the season starts, and fixing up the bank stuff, I haven’t bothered with much else. I did try to get a few achievements that I knew was going away (rk11 delves, etc) but I didn’t go out of my way to complete EVERYTHING. I might put forth more effort into that going forward into season 3, but we’ll see. Anyone else out there doing anything fancy to get ready? Let me know in comments – as always, happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself.
