An Illusionist in Skyshrine #EQ2 #EverQuest2

EQ2_000127It’s fall, and what comes with fall besides glorious cool weather, football, and comfort food? Nostalgia of course. So I’ve wandered back to EverQuest 2 and have been playing my illusionist as of late. Yesterday I spent a few hours with a shadowknight friend in skyshrine, and my illusionist managed to hit level 94 which is pretty awesome. Once we were done there I headed off to the newer zones to complete a few quests. Good thing I had a mercenary along because my illusionist is still quite squishy. My defiler is 95 and still hasn’t completed the Cobalt Scar quest chain for adventurers (I have completed it for crafters) but I’m not really in any rush.

Of course with my return also came the desire to create a new character. I currently have 10 characters – well, 11 now. I created a new baby bruiser named Blesse on the Antonia Bayle server (which is where all of my characters are). My characters are (subject to change depending on my mood and who I create or delete):

  • Stargrace – 95 defiler – 95 tailor
  • Seduit – 94 illusionist – 95 provisioner
  • Seduisant – 92 shadowknight – 95 sage
  • Jacquotte – 92 swashbuckler – 95 weaponsmith
  • Ellithia – 90 dirge – 95 alchemist
  • Ishbel – 90 coercer – 95 carpenter
  • Petites – 90 inquisitor – 95 jeweler
  • Arysh – 90 warden – 95 woodworker
  • Kameekox – 70 ranger – 95 armorer
  • Anastasie – 14 necromancer
  • Blesse – 1 bruiser

As you can see I have quite a fondness for crafters. My favorite classes to play are enchanters and after that healers.

I also managed to ding my guild level 65! This is a pretty big deal to me considering the guild has never had more than two or three other members besides myself. I hope to one day be able to level the guild to 70 and maybe even afford a T3 guild hall just because. There’s no way we need all of that room, but it sure would be neat to have that large of a decorating project. Speaking of, I have been working on decorating the current guild hall we have. I recently downgraded the hall to a T1 because there was just no need for anything larger. I’ve been working on a trophy room in the main entrance, and I have a makeshift craft room set up in the back. Aside from that, not much more has been added yet. I love having projects to work on!

As always, happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself!

Raising Clay #WurmOnline

wurm.20130908.1954My deed on Pristine is incredibly peaceful. It is built along the bottom of a cliff, and in order to gain more ‘land’ I’ve been digging dirt off of the mountain and bringing it down below and filling in some of the shore. I had a few reasons for doing this, not only to increase the waterfront property but also to raise some clay that I had on deed but under water. It took a lot of dirt since I couldn’t use the ‘level’ feature, but eventually I managed to raise the tile out of the water, and I now have access to clay. I couldn’t be more pleased.

I also managed to raise my prospecting to 20 which allows me to use the analyze skill on rock shards. This is an incredibly useful feature, it will tell you what sort of ore is nearby under the ground. You can prospect outside on rock to see what lays within but once you’re inside the cave it gets harder. I was finally able to locate the iron I have on deed using this method, yay!

That means I’m basically all set up now. I still have plans for the deed of course, but the necessities are taken care of. I plan on leveling some of the mountain so I can build a house overlooking the water, and perhaps a tree farm for my boat building. I was hoping to purchase a bunch of dirt so I could raise some more tiles out of the water but so far no one has been interested in selling any even after my offer of 3s for delivery. There is still dirt up on the mountain side that I can clear and bring down below, so that’s probably what I will end up doing.

As always, happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself!

Legacy Family 2.0 – Starting Over #TS3 #TheSims3

Screenshot-391I went back to the post I was using as a guideline for my legacy family and then noticed some of the rules (that I wanted to adhere to just for my own game style).

Legacy House: The lot initially moved into by your founder. You may not move the family to another lot during the entire challenge. All heirs must be born in this house (or rather, born from sims living at this house, even if they use the hospital to give birth)

Since I up and moved my legacy family to an entire new neighbourhood not to mention left half their family behind, I decided to start over. I was growing bored of that game anyhow, and that’s never a good thing! So I’ve started over with Blesse Reveur, pictured above. As you can see, she’s already got her one room shack standing on her enormous lot. She took a job as a scientist to start with but for some reason it affected her in a very negative manner, so she switched jobs to a substitute teacher. Blesse has the ‘eco friendly’ trait, which means a whole lot of things make her sad. She would rather carpool, taking the taxi makes her cry, so the first thing I bought after I managed this one room shack, was a bicycle and a bike rack outside her house. Now she can feel a bit better. She also wants to do a lot of gardening as her lifetime wish, so I got that under way.

Love department is going poorly. She has the flirty trait and the first guy she picked up (in the library none the less) had the not flirty trait. Needless to say the two just didn’t work out.

In the mean time, it’s nice to start fresh. Maybe I can bring this legacy family to 10. The last one stopped after 3 generations.

Building Up a Deed #WurmOnline

wurm.20130901.2329I haven’t been able to log into FFXIV this weekend, so I didn’t even try after the first day. Instead I spent most of my time in EverQuest and Wurm Online. As you can tell by the screenshot, my deed on the Pristine server is coming along very well. I managed to borrow some iron from a good friend of mine who does not live too far away, and with that, I made a large anvil and a few bits and bobs that I required. An altar so I could sacrifice all of the rares I’ve been getting, a forge, a food storage bin. I also managed to complete my first house. I cleared most of the dirt off of the side of the mountain in order to extend my waterfront area, and I’ve also almost managed to raise the clay out of the water that is on-deed. I’ll need more dirt to finish the rest.

I’m going to be working on leveling the mountain into a shelf so that I can put a house up there, as well as a small tree farm. This will take quite a bit of time, surface mining is a slow and difficult task, but it’s also very neat to be able to shape the world. I’ve been streaming some of my adventures on my twitch channel, so if you’re bored and want to take a peek you can find it over here. Wurm may not be that exciting to watch, but it certainly is pretty (and relaxing).

I’ve also got some plans for my deed over on Exodus, but I’ll talk about those another time. I hope everyone is enjoying their Monday, as always, happy gaming no matter where you find yourself!

Relaxation? Secret of the Magic Crystal

2013-08-14_00001Meet Lyndsey. My unicorn. Yep. Sometimes when I’m looking for peace and quiet I turn into one of THOSE gamers. Sure you can laugh all you want and you can think I am “less” of a gamer because of it but the truth of the matter is it doesn’t bug me. I play what I like and whether or not you like it doesn’t affect my gameplay.

I was gifted this game on steam as a gag gift, but I decided what the heck, why not actually play it. OK so the fact that it qualifies as one of steam’s ‘trading card games’ may have played into it slightly, but still.

You’re given a single horse to start out with. You can do some very small quests and enter tournaments with the creature, who wins coins that you can use to upgrade their home. Eventually, you can expand and purchase more horses, and then breed them and have a happy little stable full of ponies.

There’s also maintenance and care, you have to feed and water the horses. They can get sick, you’re able to use a recipe book and combine various herbs to create medicine. You have to pay coin to unlock recipes though so that means grinding out the small quests you’re granted, and competing in tournaments, playing on your horses strengths. I’ve earned a few trophies so far, and have them displaying proudly in my stable.

Is this game going to win any awards? No, of course not, but it IS cute, and relaxing, and very simple to play for a few minutes here and there. The tournaments you enter are quite simple. An arrow will show up over the horses head and you hit the direction key just as it starts spinning. Hit it too soon and you’ll be docked points. You want a perfect score.

The game would be more fun if players were introduced to horse breeding earlier on in the game (imo) but for a gag gift? I have no complaints.

Happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself.
