Palace of Ferzhul – Video!

Yesterday I was lucky enough to get invited to a Palace of Ferzhul run – one of the most difficult TSO instances there is (group instances at least). This zone is used in Chapter 8 for the TSO chapter quests, and drops some incredible loot. I had a blast tagging along even though I was VERY under geared and died 6 times. We went to the instance with one templar, a shadowknight, swashbuckler, ranger, coercer, and myself as the troubador. One healer in that zone is quite a feat. A huge congratulations to Pennie for keeping us (mostly) alive.

My troubador also managed to score two pieces of fabled gear. One was the caster bracelet (has a matching melee one that makes the set quite nice) and a piece of fabled forearms. Not to mention a lot of achievements and aa for entering the zone for the first time. Hopefully everyone else had a good time too, even if I was quite under geared, hehe. Hope everyone enjoys the video! I must say, I am REALLY impressed with the quality of Game Cam. The files are TINY compared to fraps (about 100MB per minute and a half of filming) and the quality is amazing. Only down side is that there are a few games that it doesn’t work with (ie: Vanguard) so I’ll be attempting to get fraps working once more specifically for that purpose. Of course that means messing with the registry files (again) and I’m putting it off for as long as I can.

Book of the Day

(( Each weekend I try to post at least one book from my Norrathian Museum for others to read. So far the collection includes 150 player written books, and you can find it on the Antonia Bayle server under the name of Ellithia, in the North Freeport mage tower.))

Zorgin’s Guide to Being a Nuisance Volume 1 – by Zorgin

This is a comprehensive list of brief tips to being an absolute pain in everyone’s ass.

#1~ Teach your friend’s children to curse.

#2~ if you know someone who wears full plate, get a high-powered magnet. Let hilarity ensue.

#3~ Paint “Ridin’ Dirty” on the side of their mount.

#4~ Say a friend’s name sensually over and over again through Guild Communications.

#5~ Shout, “Party at ~Soandso’s~ house!” Insist the party take place. Do not clean up afterwards.

#6~ Fill their home with random pets. Make sure they all have eaten beans beforehand.

#7~ Eat all their food. Insist they were sleepwalking and did it themselves.

#8~ Talk like a Ratonga for no reason. If you are a Ratonga, resist your lisp and speak like a scholar for a day. When questioned, revert back immediately and barrage them with insults.

#9~ Spend the day walking on your hands. When questioned, slap them.

#10~ Fill your friend’s adventuring flask with Laxatives.

#11~ Line your friend’s armor with itching powder. Insist pixies are responsible.

#12~ Matter of fact, insist pixies are responsible for -everything-.

#13~ end every sentence with the word “Penguin”.

#14~ Insist you teach everyone the Harpy language, Screechsong.

#15~ Shove people off of Kelethin.

#16~ Shove people into the pits of Neriak.

#17~ Shove people into the Executioner’s Pit in Freeport.

#18~ Shove people into the Qeynos Moat.

#19~ Shove people off the top platform of Gorowyn. Help them back up by telling them to use every wrong lift.

#20~ Try to speak Tik-Tok.

#21~ Go to a public gathering. When spoken to, shriek “SPIDERS” at the top of your lungs and punch the person speaking to you in the nose.

#22~ Pester your friend while out adventuring to come by your place afterwards for a drink. when you finally get there, announce you’re out of things to drink.

#23~ If you have a ranger friend, remove all the tips from his arrows. Scatter them around his bedroom floor that night, and in the morning, listen for the screams.

#24~ Go to a less-wealthy Guild’s guildhall. Ask them for obscure amenities, and when they tell you they don’t have them, act all haughty and say, “well, OUR guild hall has it…”

#25~ Go to another guild’s hall, shriek at the top of your lungs, then take a portal anywhere. Repeat every day at the same time.

Favorite EQ2 Features

Syp from Bio Break recently asked for EQ2 players to help him out by naming a few EQ2 features that people felt were ‘better’ then WoW. There were a huge amount of fantastic answers, and I decided I would show people my favorites via video, for a greater understanding of what those features are.

It’s still only my 2nd video where I talk, and I’m still learning, but it didn’t turn out too bad this time around.

Enjoy, and a thanks to Syp for posting his article!

5th Anniversary Events Now On Live

I wasn’t sure when the quests on the test server would be making their way over to live, but thankfully I didn’t have that long to wait. Yesterday morning a system message went off explaining that they were now on live servers, and that if we wanted to take part we should all head to the cities and find out what was in store for us.

I’ve played EQ2 since beta, and at the time I never had any intentions of leaving behind my game of choice, EQ. The game hooked me right from the start. It took me a week to level to 7, and in those first few months I wandered back and forth from EQ to EQ2. Even years later I still did that. I always still ended up in EQ2 though. It was always ‘home’ in my MMO worlds.

Celebrating the 5th anniversary is a pretty big deal, and I’ve been having a blast with the quests. First of all, be sure to check out your local city merchant, because there are limited edition paintings for sale. These paintings are replicas of the ones entered for a heroes of Norrath contest that was held not too long ago. Sadly, because I’m Canadian I was unable to enter. They’re amazing paintings none the less, there are 9 2nd place winners, and the first place winner (who has had their painting on the merchant for a little while now). They cost a little gold, and some personal status.

Aside from the amazing paintings, there are a few quests also offered with this anniversary. One rewards a replica of the Qeynos Claymore, as well as a 5th anniversary painting. I imagined the Claymore would be table sized, but it’s huge, so make sure you’ll have some floor space in which to display it.

There’s also a quest for some food or drink, and a third for some fireworks. Each one celebrates the birthday of EQ2, and it was just great to see.

I love live events, I really do. Limited time adventures that make the world feel alive. There’s no game out there that does it better then EQ2, either (in my opinion, of course). Make sure you log in and take advantage of all the wonderful goodies while you can!

Norrathian Museum Tour (Video)

Alright, my first “real” video is a very quick walk through of my EQ2 Norrathian Museum. I realize the voice doesn’t sync all the way through, since I recorded it live (and it’s not like that on the computer, just youtube) I’m not sure how to fix that. It’s also quiet, so jack up the volume, because I have no idea how to fix that yet. I’m learning!

The museum has been a LONG work in progress, so enjoy.
