I’m a very proud member of Signal Cartel, and have been for over a year now – minus a small break I took in November of last year. Most of “what I do” involves tending / sowing caches that are located in wormholes, these caches are made available to people who may be lost in space. As with everything in EVE, they don’t last forever and they do need to be refreshed. A big part of what I do is simply opening the cache and taking note of the content, making sure it has probes and a launcher. Sometimes we include ‘hugs’ which are just symbolic items of note, like milk or a book. We’re not allowed to leave corpses in the cache as this could be considered an act of violence, and while we’re allowed to defend ourselves if we’ve been attacked, it is against our credo to instigate any sort of combat. Signal Cartel helps those who are lost, and is completely neutral to the ongoings of the universe.
In other words, this corporation is perfect for my playstyle. I love helping others out, and exploration is the main feature of EVE that appeals to me. Anyway, this week was an exceptional one because the 500,000th cache has been tended / sown! Pretty amazing. Each one of those actions is someone dedicating their game time to another to help take care of those caches. I’m very happy to be a part of it.
