Wormlife Freeports & Drama

One of the things you learn about EVE from pretty early on, is that ships are ammo, only fly what you can afford to lose – and nothing lasts forever. For the past year or so I’ve called a Wormlife Freeport my home. These are structures set up in various wormholes, that the public can use. They’re not set up in any fancy sort of locations, but they provide an aspect of gameplay that some people enjoy without having to join a large corporation or get involved in the blue donut (which exists in wormholes as much as they do in nullsec).

Recently though, Wormlife Freeports came under attack by a group of multiboxers who have a history of eviction. The problem is these players prefer the long fight – they reinforce structures, but only show up at the battle when there’s no one there to defend them. Then they continue this for days, weeks, months – as long as it takes to wear away at the patience of those defending. It’s an effective method of play, but it isn’t much fun for those who are trying to defend their homes. Of course there is all of the intel and back and forth between all the involved parties, things tend to get quite ramped up.

Since I’m a member of Signal Cartel and have a credo to follow, I’m not involved in any way aside from observation (and then writing these observations here). I moved my belongings out of the Freeport and back to my home in highsec. It was bound to happen sooner or later. I hope there is plenty of content for both sides of this situation, and I’m excited to see where I dock my ship next.

Fly your way! o7
